We wrote a short paragraph on vision and we brainstormed ideas for our vision for the VAPA camp. I really enjoyed picking out our favorite phrases and merging them together. When we all worked on a single sentence it was a mess. But it was rather fun and we still managed to make it grammatically correct. After that, we moved on to our mission. I believed that in order to write our mission, we needed to figure how we're going to run the camp first. I enjoyed our discussions and plans on how to make the children feel comfortable and learn new things. I hope we continue to do more of that in the future and figure out ways to make it run as smoothly as possible.

Today we finished up our missions and values. It went by pretty quickly as we had began our work earlier. Today we started something new as we brought up goals for our participates, counselors, and the camp creation part. We had a lot to add and lots of brainstorming for the entirety of the camp. I'm really excited to get started on the actual planning of the camp now that the hard big thinking is out of the way.

Today we figured out our camp name which is Camp Yampa. Its really fun to say and unique and our own. I highly doubt anyone would be able to not like Camp Yampa with a name like that. I'm really looking forward to working on the calendar and stuff. I really want to help organize things for the participants and conselors.

Today we figured out the schedule of the rest of the week. We also started to work on individual activity plans for each focus. We assgined the focus to each person and we are creating activities for everyone to do as a whole. I'm really excited to work as I already have some great ideas for my focus which is dance. I feel comfortable working on dance as I've been doing dance my whole life and I can't wait to make it better for the participates when they come in!

Today, I worked on the admin calendar with Eleni. We organized it pretty well and got nearly the year done. We call Hanks in cause we had a couple questions and wanted to run it through him and it worked out pretty well. After that I worked with Reilly with applications and other legal things. We got like 3 documents down and then they moved on to the participant calendar because we had more time leftover. We actually ended with a lot of time, we work pretty fast, and that is why we're using this time to write in our journal.

Today we figured out the final performance. I have a lot of ideas for the dance final performance. I would love to choreograph, though I don't even know if i can come back. It'll be exciting. I wish i got to go to a camp for this that's so well thought out.

After brainstorming we working our own. Its getting kinda hard to find game activities that works for beginners. But hey, I can research. I just want to make sure its more dancey instead of stand in place and wiggle around. I have bigger ideas for the focuses, hopefully i can squeeze out enough for everyone

After meeting with the group, I separated out with Eleni and Reilly to create the admin calendar and the participant calendar. I found a template for google sheets and we just adjusted the dates and filled it out so its neat and clear when we do what. It took a little while, but it worked out pretty well. Now it's nice and neat (though i still want to consider it messy). After that I did a little more individual activies things, I'm more than half way done with filling out the activity chart. I just need to find more things and use the template for them.

Today we talked as a group and then went off in our own direction. I finished up filling up my activity chart except for one activity for equality which I am still having trouble with. I filled out more activity worksheets for some of them. I also made a google slide for props and genres. I'm planning to make a slide for the list for the scavenger hunt.

So today, we met up and planned out a schedule for the rest of the week. I finalized the Admin and Participant calendar with Eleni and Reilly so I'm feeling good about that. My goal is to finish with the activities by this week. I finished filling out all the ideas, I just need to fill out the template for each of them and create some slides for the cards and stories and information stuff that is needed.

Today, I worked a little on my own to finish up some activities for dance. Later I worked with Reilly to finish all the documents for the campers. After we finished that, we still had time so we started on a calendar for the counselors to figure out what activities their group is doing. We then scheduled another time for that as it's gonna require a lot of time together.

I forgot to write yesterday. I discussed some things with Hanks and Reilly about the applications and we went ahead and brainstormed some ideas about how camp is going to run and about the different staffs and other things.
Today, I finiished my activities!! There are a couple i dont like as much, but i do plan to revisit them tomorrow with new eyes and figure out what im going to do with it. Today I also cleaned up a counselor schedule with Reilly so its easily printable for counselors to plan for their kids.

Today I cleaned up some documents so its neater and more in one spot. I also labeled my activities accordingly. After that I began writing summaries of the fairytales I wrote down a couple days ago. I regret writing down 30 stories cause it's taking a long time. I search each of them up since many have different adaptations. I also had to make sure the summary wasn't too long but it still told the whole story. So today was a lot of organizing and summarizing. It took a pretty long time

I forgot to write yesterday. I was adding more into my slideshows that hold more information about fairytales, terminology and genre. I did have to search things up and I need to make sure its understandable for most people. It sounds simple, and it is easy work. Just tedious.

Today, I finished some slideshows. For the genres one, I added videos to showcase each genre and I added some more terms in my dance terminology one. After that, I looked through the music activities. I cleaned up some of my dance activities too so its easier for the kids to learn.

I ran out of a couple things to do today. I cleaned up some things in my slideshows and I cleaned up admin and participant calendars and I also began writing down all our notes for counselor things. Later we had our daily meetings and luckily I found more things to do then. But yeah, tomorrow I'll have a busier day than today which is a good thing.

Today I decided to start organizing the focus times for dance. It's going to be a little different because I know dancers need to warm up and do some conditioning. I looked through my activities again to check for Lauren's comments. I then began a rough draft of the website so when we met up together we just had to rearrange some things and fill in the blanks. It's getting messier if you look at it, but its the neatest it can be for all the information we need to add. We later met up all together and created a story about a trans frog princess and a lady knight.

Today I filled up more things in the website draft and I organized times for my focus time. I also created a better idea about the final. I changed all of my activities to the new template which was pretty tedious. I hope I didn't mess up any numbering. Our "word of the day" was writing a story based on a picture and ah it made me so happy cause I havent written in a long time and it felt so good to imagine a story.

Today we started off the day with another writing prompt from Lauren. Then I worked on my own and organized the website page. I made the outline on the side so its easier to go through. After that I created a counselor schedule for the dance focus. I seperated out the day for warmup, conditioning, lessons, dance, and a cool down. I began to make slides for them and I reorganized the dance activities folder.

We did Eleni's activity of Simon Says with drawing. She sometimes told us to draw shapes or a specific object or she told us how to draw like flipping the paper upside down and with our non dominant hand. It was fun, I enjoyed it. After that I changed everyone's activity page to fit the template we agreed on. After that I cleaned up some stuff about the pre summer group, the summer counselors, and the summer aids that we talked about during the group call. After all that I began writing up some sets for the dance focus.

Today I led the group in an activity where we watch a dance and then we design a costume for that dance. I have some adjustments I'm going to make when we do it in the actual camp. We discussed some topics about counselors and focuses stuff. On my own, I didn't realize the title was changed to category so i changed all of mine to that. Then I wrote up some tasks and information about head counselors and teachers. We did name each specific counselor so it would be easier for us to know who is who. After that I brainstormed some lesson plans for the dance focus that isnt about dancing but what they can leave the camp with knownledge of.

I created a Google Drawing of the flowchart of administrators in the camp. It actually looks really good and I'm pretty proud of it. I did more stuff to my focus. I cleaned up the schedule and wrote down rehearsal times and days for the talent show and auditions and the final performance. I messed up along the way, but luckily i noticed the time conflicts and i cleaned it up well. After that, I thought of writing down the last day it was edited for the slide shows that are information to the counselors. That way if there's anything new with the world the future counselors will be able to know how long its been since someone looked through the entire thing so we are able to keep it uh whats the word modern? But yeah, i wrote that in the subtitle of the title page of my informational slides.

Today we had a meeting where we mainly assigned more tasks to begin and we schedule meetings to happen. I got some feedback on the counselor flowchart and i added a couple more people. Im trying my best to make it all in one place and add links to easily connect them. After that I did some mroe adjusting with the focus times. Although, reallly i spent most of it with writings down notes and organizing the folders so its easier to find and look through.

Today I started working at 1 because I had to register for classes. I mainly worked on my dance focus things. I counted up all the lessons and planned each lesson. Well, im organizing it so its open for future counselors to plan it themselves, but I made a template and some suggestions to help them out. After that we called and briefly talked about some tee shirt designs. I made a quick little design that I like pretty well and I'll probably work on it more tomorrow and then talk to everyone else about it.

Today I played around with some t-shirt designs. I made a couple. I also worked on my dance activities and started writing out warm ups. I also need to research more about cool downs in order to make some cool downs. I called with Eleni and we talked about the counselor training week. We have a pretty good rough draft and we'll begin making presentations to show the group.

After that i called with Hanks to talk briefly about food and transportation. we decided on hold onto that for a little while because we can only control so much about it especially with world problems right now. After that I called with Stella and Lauren to deal with website things, we're getting pretty comfortable with it so that's going well.

Eleni and I talked about the counselor training week and we worked on Monday together and we spilt up the work for both of us. I worked a lot on the website and I'm feeling pretty proud about the focus page. Im excited and Im getting used to the website creation. I also did more for my cooldowns for my dance focus.

I finished up all of my focus things and its looking pretty solid and well. There are things I can improve on, but if I didn't do anything to it, it would work well. I will add back to it, but I do also wantt o give future cousnelors some flexbility. Although they can easily change it and do their own thing. I also worked on the counselors training for Wednesday. There's some things weird about it. I'm not completely sure yet. But i think im going to pretend to present it and figure out what Im missing.

I worked a bit on the script to clean up some of my words so it sounds like me more. Then I went on the website and cleaned up the last few details. I added pcitures of the flyers, and I had a friend look through the entire website to see if they catch anything. I think im well done with the website. there are a few things i can add, but i dont have the resources now.

The intership is almost over. We went over the presentation that we're going to present to the board tomorrow. After that, I had my end of internship review. I looked over the website for the last time and i'm pretty satisfied with it
